Corpus Christi and Texas Backroads

A few weeks ago, Brian and I made a quick trip to Corups Christi for his friends graduation. We weren’t in Corpus long (most of our time was spent on a 700 acre ranch!) but I did manage to get a few shots of the coastline.

On our way back to Austin, we kept passing the most beautiful wild flowers. Finally, I made Brian pull over so I could take some photos.

The drive to Corpus is pretty boring… so I decided to bust on Hipstamatic. It has been SO long since I’ve used that app, but I had a lot of fun with it.

Ice Storm

With spring right around the corner, I wanted to post these photos from the last ice storm we had in Austin. I used my Photojojo macro iPhone lens. When purchased, this lens comes as two lenses in one. It comes assembled as a wide angle lens, then you can unscrew the wide angle, leaving the macro lens. For $20, you can’t beat it. I talk about these lenses all the time, but know that I’ve never been paid too! I genuinely love this inexpensive piece of iPhoneography equipment. If you have an iPhone, you should have Photojojo lenses! Although, if Photojojo wanted to send me some free gear to test, I wouldn’t hate it…

Town Lake in January

I’ve been in Austin for about 7 months now. I feel like I’ve explored a TON of restaurants (going out to eat is probably my favorite hobby), seen lots of different areas of town, and have walked downtown quite a bit. However, one thing I haven’t taken full advantage of is the lake. It is always bustling with activity and I want to join in! It’s such a great place to walk or run – and stand up paddle boarding is definitely on my Austin To-Do List.

Of course, if outdoor adventure isn’t your thing, you could just park yourself on a bench and take amazing photos of the skyline.

Early Morning on Lake Austin

The other day, I substituted at Austin High School. The school is right next to the lake, so I decided to walk down to the water before heading inside. I don’t visit the lake as much as I should. There are such wonderful trails walk and water sports to participate in. I really want to try stand up paddle boarding! One of these days. I’ve also taken quite a few photos from the new Boardwalk on the east side of the trail.

Cloudy Reflections

In southern California, any kind of weather besides ‘clear and sunny’ is a rare occurrence. While perfect weather is the appeal for most people, I always get bored when it is sunny every single day. I want to look outside my window and see something besides clear, blue skies! Recently through, we got a small amount of rain (!) and I was so happy to see the white, puffy clouds that were left behind reflected in a small lake.
