San Gabriel Park Trail in Georgetown

My family and I went walking in Georgetown the other weekend along the beautiful San Gabriel River Trail. Curious as to where we ate? Check out my post on the Monument Cafe! Overall, the trail by San Gabriel Park is a little ‘park-y’ for me. I prefer more nature-filled walks. However, if you had kids or a stroller, or wanted to go running without worrying about twisting an ankle, this part of the trail is great.

If you continue west along the trail, you will eventually reach Georgetown Lake! It’s about 5.5 miles away from the park though, so I’ll have to revisit the trail and start somewhere further down the road, like Booty’s Road Park.

  1. The trail was beautiful last week, wasn’t it?!?!?! There are some amazing hidden gems to photograph along the trail. I walked it (not for photographing, unfortunately!) on Wednesday last week and I was amazed at what I was driving past all the time. Check out the cemetery over near Blue Hole sometime. If you google it, you’ll learn some fascinating hidden Gtown history.

    • I will check it out cemetery! Thanks for the tip. I haven’t been to Blue Hole yet, but definitely want to see it. Thanks for writing!
