Kerbey Lane

Driving around with our realtor in Austin, we basically talked about food nonstop. She recommended a place called Kerbey Lane. It’s a small cafe with 5 locations in the Austin area. My family and I went to the original location and loved the atmosphere. The cafe is in a small, rainbow painted house with an outdoor seating area. Very, “Austin Weird” with a bright interior and unique decor. There’s also a huge coffee cup marking their location on the street. Kerbey Lane has breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They even have a small bar for late night drinks. Breakfast is served all day, so even though it was 3 in the afternoon when I ate, I of course still had breakfast. They offer great, fancy pancakes, like gingerbread and vegan apple apple pie. You can even buy their pancake mix and have a Kerbey Lane breakfast in your own kitchen! I was SO HUNGRY when I got my food, I didn’t even remember to photograph it. I had blueberry pancakes (they mix the blueberries in the batter, not just a sprinkle on top – what a treat!), eggs, bacon, and a biscuit and gravy. Their fair trade coffee was also excellent. I’m enrolling in an accelerated teaching credential program that’s just a block or two down the street, so I will definitely be visiting Kerbey Lane again!
